I think it is fitting that Greg was able to celebrate June 1st in Eswatini.  This was the day, seven years ago, that our family moved to Eswatini.  This is his first visit since we returned last April.  Part of his new position will be to travel back and forth.  Some trips, I should be able to join him, but currently, flights are around $2,000 so he flew solo this time.  We are hopeful we can both go together next year.

During his three-week visit, he will be conducting some training with local staff and meeting with the regional leaders.  So far, training has gone well and he has been able to share the importance of what is done on the field and how it impacts stateside donors.  He has also been able to rekindle relationships with so many that we love dearly.

Below is a young man that we have had the privilege of watching grow up for the past seven years.  He has such a great smile!

We are super grateful to friends, Morgan and Bongani, who have been storing our household items this past year.  Greg will be making a plan for these items during his time in country.  We were allowed one suitcase on the last flight and had a little over a week to pack before the evacuation flight (it happened very quickly), so there are still some things that need to be sorted.  We are having many conversations over FaceTime asking ourselves, ”Is it really worth it to bring this all the way back to America?”

Please continue to pray for Eswatini!  The second wave of COVID-19 devastated Eswatini. The fear of a third wave is looming over the country as it is already impacting several provinces in South Africa. The vaccine has been very slow to get to Eswatini. The first round of vaccines was given to medical professionals and the elderly, but many of the second doses were diverted to India. The people that received the first dose have not been able to get the second dose. Things are slowly beginning to open back up, but strict precautions are encouraged everywhere to combat against the third wave becoming a reality.

Please pray for Greg’s safe return as he has already had three flight cancellations for his return trip and there have been many hours spent on hold with the airline to get him rebooked on other flights.

Thank you to all who support this ministry and invest your resources and prayers on our behalf.  We are happy to be partners with you on this journey and we pray the Lord’s blessings on all who are a part.
