At the beginning of the school year, I told the boys to repeat after me, ”Mom is on my side”. I remind them of this “motto” often. As a homeschool mom, I want them to know that I have their best interest at heart. Despite the challenging assignments, hard work or schedule changes, my goal is to provide them with the best possible education. I want to instill great study habits and self-confidence so they can be as prepared for their future…whatever that may be.

God also has to remind me of this motto, ”He is on my side”. Just as I want the best for my kids, He wants even greater things for you and me. But do we act like God is on our side? Do we really believe that He has our best interest at heart? Sometimes, I resist what He is trying to teach me, instead of embracing His truths and being teachable to become what He wants me to be. It is not always easy, but that is what makes us trust Him more.

On November 20th, we celebrated Greg’s birthday. It was fun to go to Nelspruit for a night and reflect on what a great dad and husband he is to our family.

Today is our two and half year mark in Swaziland. There have been days that I have had to remind myself that He is on my side…even if I am on the other side of the world.

For the first time in three years, we will spend Christmas with a family member! Linda, Greg’s mom, is coming for a visit on December 8th and will stay until the middle of January.

The school year is coming to an end for the children here in Swaziland. Many little ones are on their way to first grade after graduating from preschool.  They are so cute in their caps and gowns!

As Christmas approaches, I pray that God will show you He has your best interest at heart and He loves you very much. May God bless you this Christmas season for following, supporting, and/or praying for our journey.

Merry Christmas from Our Family to Yours!

Greg, Michelle, Landon and Lane
