Hi Friends,
I wanted to give a brief update on the past few months.
Greg and I were able to attend a missionary debrief in Colorado Springs at the end of August. It was eye opening and very needed. Living in another culture and experiencing so many heart-breaking stories has had an impact on us more than we realized. Reverse culture shock has also been a reality as we try to plug back into the American culture. The debrief gave us an opportunity to assess where we currently are, identify some stressors, recognize grief and loss, and make a plan for some needed changes.
Our lives are different because of living in another culture and now our worlds are forever blended! It is like mixing colors of Play-Doh…once they are mixed, it is impossible to separate them.
This summer has given us a chance to spend some quality time with Landon and Lane. Because of a generous couple, we were able to celebrate their 21st birthday at the beach.
Lane has begun his senior year at Auburn and Landon is pursuing an online associates degree at Liberty University. We are so thankful to be stateside and walk beside them as young adults.
We continue to do the best we can to lead the AIM Eswatini sponsorship department and cheer our beloved Swazi friends from the stateside. Finances still play a big part in my role as well and we are able to stay in constant contact with those on the field.
We are grateful for the path God is taking us and so blessed that you are a part of our journey. We are learning to live in our blended world and it serves as a reminder that this is not our permanent home.
Thank you to all of our supporters of this amazing ministry and for walking this road with us. We could not do what we do without you!
Michelle
