What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday? It is important to thank God for even the little things.
It is hard to complain here.
If our water goes out, we remember that many people don’t even have indoor plumbing and that many people only have a gravity-fed tap in their yard which is supplied with water from a nearby river, if the river has any water.
If our power goes out, we remember that many people do not have electricity at their house or are not able to afford to buy units.
We have no air con in our car, but SO many people we know WALK in the heat and in the rain…
If there is nothing in the pantry that really sounds good to eat for dinner, we remember that many people do not even have food to survive.
Many of these people are ones that we know and call friends!
We are continuously humbled by living in a third world country! Even living just down the road from locals, we still don’t get it. We only get a glimpse into their home life and will probably never understand what they have to go through. They have incredible faith in God knowing what it means to trust him daily for provision.
We will forever be students of this culture. This culture sparks more of a passion now than ever to seek to understand those we partner with in this journey.
Working beside local staff this year with teams, preschool graduations, Christmas parties and a thousand other things that go on here, has been awesome. Here are a few pictures of a Christmas party as everyone was enjoying a special meal together.
May we all be thankful for the big and little things this holiday season. We are so thankful for each of you that support us through prayer and finances. We consider you a really BIG blessing!
Happy Thanksgiving!
