A few months ago, I blogged how I was blessed to sale my car. I had always wanted a red vehicle and the actual color was called “jewel red”. It was a beauty. I was sad to see it go, but knew it was the right time in this journey to sale that asset. Since that time, I have been known to poke out my lip when I see a red vehicle (I know…very mature). I had hopes that maybe in Swazi our vehicle would be red. Our friends in Swazi have been on the look out for a good deal for us. Last week, they told us they were going to look at a possibility. As I was sharing this news with my closest friends, they asked me if it was red? I simply could not ask since this seemed like such an unimportant detail. This was just a hope, not a necessity. Anyway, our Swazi friend sent us pictures of the vehicle to see what we thought. Anyone want to guess what color it was? RED…our 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser is red! I could not believe it. So excited. I choose to look at this as a reminder that God cares about what we care about. I feel this is a special blessing and I love when God reminds us He is even in the details. Don’t get me wrong…if the car had been any other color, I would still be thankful. However, of all the colors it could have been, it’s red.
The timing of this blessing was perfect. The same week, we also moved out of the house we have lived in for the past 11½ years. This house is the only house my kids remember. We are now living with Greg’s mom. (Bless her heart!) We have “crammed” our belongings anywhere and everywhere. We will be able to save money by moving at this time and hopefully, this will begin to prepare everyone for our upcoming transition. We also said goodbye to our dog, Baxter. Those of you who know me well, know that I am NOT a dog lover. However, this has impacted Greg and the boys. A very loving family has given Baxter a great new home.
These are steps in our journey to follow God’s leading. The peace God has given us is amazing even with saying goodbye to our house and dog. I truly believe God gives us what we need for what He asks us to do. Thank you God that you are even in the little things like a red car in Swaziland!
Thanks for the update – as always in life, especially when we put it on the line for Jesus and His Kingdom, there are things to celebrate and to mourn. The great news is He is with us celebrating and mourning – and He’s got a perspective on it all what we don’t have. Thanks for doing your best to obey and walk in faith!
Having lived in Swaziland over 3 1/2 years I can say this is the first and only red land cruiser I have seen! And now you know….. the rest of the story! Good day!
Don’t you love Jesus’ sense of humor!!! He not only amazes us, He also gives us a great laugh!!! (Red is a color of boldness and that is just what you guys have to go to Swazi and obey God’s calling!)
