Last Thursday marked our 600th day in Swaziland. Our son, Landon, has been counting down the days until we come home on furlough and also has been tracking how many days we have been here. 600 days, wow!

600 days of being in a totally different culture.

600 days of knowing we are exactly where God has called our family (some days were easier than others).

600 days of partnering with AIM staff to make and multiply disciples.

600 days without seeing friends and family face to face.

We are grateful for Facebook, Voxer, WhatsApp, email, etc., but we are excited to actually talk in person with many of you. Due to the eight-hour time difference, many times we write emails or leave messages while friends/family are asleep, and we get delayed responses when we wake up!

To be honest, we are in uncharted waters. We have never re-entered American culture after being away for such a long time. There are lots of blogs and articles about “furlough” and from what we read, most view this time as stressful and overwhelming. This makes us a little nervous, so we are asking you to pray.

Here are a few specifics for prayer:

  • Pray that God will provide opportunities for us to share what HE has been doing in Swaziland.
  • Pray for our boys. They will continue 10th grade school work while in the US. They have also seen and heard really tragic stories while engaging in this ministry, so please pray for God to guard their hearts.
  • Pray that God will raise additional supporters to join our team as our support has dropped significantly over the past six months.
  • Pray that God will provide financially for the trip home as we pay four months rent and utilities this week to cover expenses while we are oversees. We are discovering, it is expensive to come home.
  • Pray that our family will find rest and renewal as we take a break from the ministry. In some ways, we feel that we have just scratched the surface of ministry here, and we are excited to see how God will continue to use our family over the next few years.

Thank you for your prayers!

Thank you to all who support us financially!

Thank you for following our journey!

See you soon!!!

Greg and Michelle
