The countdown has begun and reality is setting in that our time together in Swaziland is coming to a close. I asked the boys to list some of the things that they will and will not miss (not in any particular order):

Will miss:

  1. Our Liberty Church Manzini family

  2. Sadie (our dog)

  3. Our own bed/room

  4. The beautiful scenery

  5. Other missionary families

Will not miss:

  1. People staring at us

  2. People constantly speaking Siswati and not being able to understand what they are saying

  3. The limited food selection

  4. Having less social interaction due to homeschool

  5. Crazy drivers…people do not obey traffic laws

  6. Extremely slow/non-existent internet

Lane has decided to go to Auburn University. He received a Presidential scholarship and also some funds from the CADC (College of Architecture, Design, and Construction). He will study graphic design. He has had a great opportunity with Liberty Church in Manzini to lead the production and creative teams and has found a passion for graphic design. We are excited for him as he follows his dreams.

Landon continues to raise money for the World Race Gap Year. God is showing Landon to trust in Him because He will provide in His timing. He will kick off his nine month journey to Thailand, Malaysia, Costa Rica, and Ecuador in September. If you would like to follow his journey, you can also subscribe to his blog at landonmullins.theworldrace.org.  He has been working with Liberty Kids and that experience has been eye opening for him to see how much planning is involved in church ministry.

Adventures in Missions ministry has been pretty busy lately with three missionary families visiting the states since January. Over the last few weeks, we have been making preparations on covering our duties while we are gone.  The team we are leading in June has graciously agreed to take some of the boys’ things back with them which is a huge blessing. This will allow them to take back more than one or two suitcases!

There are many ways that you can be praying for us:

  1. Pray that God will give us all peace during this transition.  We are still saying “Yes” to what the Lord has called us to do, but we know it will not be easy living in a different country than our children.

  2. Pray that God will provide the finances necessary to maintain our house in Swazi,  college expenses and set up cost, equipment for Landon’s 9-month journey, purchase of a vehicle, etc.

  3. Pray for our Swazi staff as they are entering into a very busy “team” season.

  4. Pray for visiting teams that God will use them in a mighty way in various care points.

  5. Pray for the country of Swaziland (now called the Kingdom of Eswantini) and that God will continue to make Himself known in this country.

Thank you to all who partner with us financially and in prayer.  Big changes are coming and we treasure your prayers. We look forward to seeing many of you during our time stateside and at Sweets for Swazi on August 25th…mark your calendars!!!

With much love,

The Mullins Family
